Heya friends, happy Friday!
I am writing an abbreviated edition from Row 83 on my flight to London; my first time on a plane with two stories! Being a mobility nerd is fun because sometimes it means instead of moaning about being in the very last row, I instead get to be like … engineering can be cool??
Anyways…! Before we dive into a short and sweet edition of the news, Ali Griswold from Oversharing and I have finalized the details of our mobility happy hour next week! Come find us at the Earl of Essex at 6pm on Thursday, Nov. 23rd. Fill in this form if you’d like to join us, and feel free to bring a +1. Not to pitch it too hard… but this is potentially a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to also meet my mom (an icon! you can ask her about her biking adventures!).
As I bop around London, I’ll be taking next week off writing. OK, time for ze (bullet-pointed) news:
How will Texas approach AV regulation? As the wild wild west or a regulatory haven? (TechCrunch)
WeRide launches AVs in Inner Mongolia (ChinaDaily)
Milton Keynes plans to test AV buses (BBC)

Collaborative Mobility UK is hosting their annual conference on Dec. 5th, and you should attend! It’s online and you can register here.
I am currently reading my first Murakami (Dance, Dance, Dance) and I have thoughts, especially in how Murakami writes women… maybe I started wrong but also maybe he just thinks women are meek lil beings who need saving from mediocre men?? If you’ve read Murakami, please help me understand if I’m really far off or right on target.
That’s all from me. Have a beautiful weekend friends!
Sarah
