As an older white man, living in the UK but with friends and relatives in the USA, the impact of the election is terrible. What's horrifying is the thought that Trump won the popular vote this time, so not some quirk of the electoral system.

I don't know what the solution is, but I'm not blaming any individual. Democrats need to start speaking to uneducated, unskilled men in words they understand. If they don't, fascists will.

For everyone that isn't a white, male billionaire, their lives will be worse. Probably far worse. I dread the next 4 years (and I'm hoping the USA can revert to sanity after that).

To end on a positive, in the long term, things tend to improve, but it isn't a straight road, and this is a particularly worrying divergence from the trend, but the trend will win eventually.

I thought that "remember, remember the fifth of November" would now mean something to the whole world, but then read about your blinking face and cried. 😢 Thinking about the cybertruck on "full self-driving" helped as I literally LOL'd. We certainly needed the happy transportation this week!
